The Getty Museum provides an assortment of lectures, performances as well as family activities throughout the year for public. The museum is located off the 405 freeway and there is no admission charge. Parking is all that individuals pay for.
Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens
Situated in the foothills of the Santa Monica hills, the Los Angeles Zoo, also known as the LA Zoo, is located near LA’s Griffith Park. The zoo is known for both its animals and its AAM (American Association of Museums) approved and accredited Botanical Gardens. The Botanical Garden’s 7,000 plants not only beautifies the zoo. The plants also provide food for some of the zoo’s animals.
The Winnick Family Children’s Zoo finds it home at the LA Zoo. This zoo within a zoo provides children with the opportunity to pet and play with a variety of domesticated animals such as llamas, sheep and goats. Children are also provided with educational information through the Children’s Zoo Ampitheatre and animal nursery.
The LA Zoo provides children with a play area through the Neil Papiano Play Park. This Play Park is designed so that all children, including those with disabilities, can have fun. The area contains animals structures as well as more traditional play structures for children enjoyment. The Play Park also provides a picnic area for meals.
Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Citywalk
Universal Studios is a place that provided both entertainment and educational opportunities. Visitors to the park can enjoy a special effects demonstration. They can also watch animals actors perform. Popular movies provide the themes for park rides. Tours are available which allow park guests to see sets of popular TV shows.
A Universal Studios VIP pass will allow an individual to watch the production of a movie that is currently in progress. The VIP pass will also allow the holder to get to the front of all the lines for the park rides.
Universal Citywalk, located between the parking lot and Universal Studios, is the entryway to Universal Studios. This area houses shopping, eateries, clubs and movie theatres. After a day at Universal Studios, an individual can spend time in Universal Citywalk before heading back to the hotel or home.
Disneyland Tours
Disneyland, located in neighboring Orange County, has many choices for adults and children when it comes to entertainment. Children will enjoy riding the tea cups and watching the world famous Disney Parade. Adults will enjoy the shows and the exciting rides, such as the freefall “Haunted House”. All will enjoy the evening fireworks show.
