Healthy hair requires that a person does more than just brush his hair in the morning.

Although maintaining healthy hair can take time and energy, having beautiful hair does not have to be time consuming. Even with a busy life a person can choose to take the little steps that will ensure that his hair maintains its health and beauty.

Eating Well for Beautiful Hair

What an individual eats can be seen in how healthy her hair is. Eating a balanced diet, ensures that a person’s hair looks and feels more healthy. Eating a variety of fruits and vegetables daily is essential but for healthy hair. Proteins, found in foods such as: cheese, chicken and beans, should be included in the diet. Water drinking is essential to ensuring that hair is hydrated.

Conditioning for Healthy Hair

Conditioning is a step that can be considered non-essential when an individual is trying to balance her busy life. Conditioning, however, is necessary for hair maintenance. Hair should be conditioned every time it is washed. Conditioners that are full of natural extracts, such as the ones found on Pioneer Thinking, that the hair is conditioned naturally.

Conditioning products, applied after washing, can be left on the hair for up to 10 minutes or more. If an individual would like more conditioning, she may opt for a leave-in conditioner.

Don’t Shampoo Daily

Contrary to popular belief, it is not necessary for an person to shampoo her hair everyday. The chemicals in shampoo tend to dry out hair. Dry hair looks and feels unhealthy.

An individual’s hair is still clean if it is only washed two or three times every week. On the days where hair is not washed, conditioner should be used on the tips of the hair so that split ends are avoided.

Cut the Heat

Heat is damaging to hair follicles. When heat is used oftten, hair tends to become dry and brittle. This causes breakage and split ends. Persons who like having curls can opt for using rollers instead of curling irons. Rollers can stay in hair while other tasks are completed. (ie make-up, breakfast, etc)

Individuals who wish to maintain straight hair, should use a hair straightener only on the days that the hair is washed. In-between wash days, hair can be smoothed with a little lotion or gel.

Maintaining healthy hair requires a combination of good eating, avoiding extra heat on hair, conditioning and cutting down on shampooing. When an individual is willing to take the time to do these things, she can be assured that her hair will look and feel beautiful.
